Kunuwanimano Child & Family Services (KCFS) is an Indigenous child and family well-being agency that has been serving Indigenous children and families of Northeastern Ontario since its founding in 1989. The organization’s name, Kunuwanimano, translates to “Keeping Our Own,” reflecting the deep commitment to ensuring Indigenous families remain connected to community, culture and traditions.

Child & Community Well Being Plan

Kunuwanimano is working with participating First Nations to co-develop the Child and Community Well-Being Plan. Through NAN and COO sessions and ongoing virtual and in-person meetings, KCFS is helping identify community priorities and develop plans that reflect each First Nation’s strengths, needs, and direction. KCFS remains committed to reducing administrative burden through flexible engagement, careful preparation, and accessible planning information.
